Pastor Ato Kessie, the head pastor of the Dansoman District of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church who recently lost five family members- his wife, all his children and his inlaw- to fire has revealed that he is starting life all over again after being robbed of the joy he laboured several years to build but importantly, his faith in God’s goodness is unshaken.
The Man of God a month ago lost his wife three children and his mother-in-law who were burnt to ashes after a fire gutted their storey building apartment at Dansoman a suburb of Accra
According to preliminary investigations, the cause of the fire is not known but neighbours say it was very difficult to rescue the victims as a result of the burglarproof windows and doors which left them to their fate as they watched helplessly.
The man who was not at home at the time of the incident became inconsolable on hearing the misfortune that had befallen him.
All five were buried on Sunday 26th August 2018 at the Gbawe public Cemetery after a requiem service was held at Methodist University College, Dansoman.
But family spokesperson, Frank Owusu on Accra-based Neat Fm in an interview said they have taken solace in God even though the man at these trying moments needs to start life all over again. He revealed that the Pastor’s faith in God remains at an all time high.
“Pastor Ato Kessie will have to start life all over again by making a new family and other needs of life and for that matter, he will need everyone’s support, but his faith in God is stronger”, he appealed to sympathizers.
He admitted that the man is going through turbulent times and there is the need for spirited Ghanaians to lend him the needed support in order to overcome the trauma that has befallen him.
“Pastor Ato is going through a lot now. So I urge Ghanaians to remember him in their prayers because he needs prayers [to go through the challenging times]. Those who wish to support him can also do so because he is empty now,” he averred.
